Ingredients for Nippattu



  • Rice Flour -200 Gram
  • Maida - 50 gram
  • Semolina - 50 gram
  • Oil - 3 tbspoon
  • Roasted gram - 1/2 cup
  • Roasted Peanuts - 1/2 Cup
  • Dry Coconut - 1/2 cup(fine Chopped) 
  • dry Red Chilli - 8-10
  • Curry leave - 10-12
  • salt as per taste
  • water - 1/2 Cup
  • Oil for fry


Dough Preparation for Nippattu



  • Place Dry chilli in heated pan
  • Add curry leaves
  • Add 1 spoon oil
  • Roast few sec
  • turn off the gas
  • once cool down - grind it
  • Place roasted gram
  • Add roasted Peanuts
  • Add Dry coconut
  • grind roughly
  • Grinded mixture ready
  • Now place roasted Dry Chilli & Curry leaves in grinder
  • Grind rougly
  • Grinded chilli & curry leave mixture
  • Take Rice flour in big Thali. 
  • Add Semolina
  • Add Maida
  • Add salt as per taste
  • Add gram/peanutes/Coconut grinded mixture
  • Add Red chilli/Curry leaves mixture
  • Mix all this ingredient very gently
  • Add Warm Oil in that & mix well
  • All ingredients mixed well
  • Add water little by little to prepare dough
  • Dough is ready - Let's make Nippattu


Making Nippattu & Fry



  • Grease oil in polythin
  • Take a portion of dough
  • & roll it down with the help of belan.
  • Cut with the help of cookie cutter/Glass 
  • Put some cuts with help of fork, so it won’t be fluffy like puri once fried.
  • Prepare all the Nippattu in same manner
  • Place all Nippattus in heated oil 
  • Flip & Fry in medium flame
  • All Nippattus are fried Golden Brown
  • Take them out in plate
  • Ready to Serve


Serving & Platting




  • Serve Nippattues with Tea

Now place roasted Dry Chilli & Curry leaves in grinder

Grind roughly

Grinded chilli & curry leave mixture

Take Rice flour in big Thali. 

Add Semolina

Add Maida

Add salt as per taste

Add gram/peanutes/Coconut grinded mixture

Add Red chilli/Curry leaves mixture

Mix all this ingredient very gently

Add Warm Oil in that & mix well

All ingredients mixed well

Add water little by little to prepare dough

Dough is ready - Let's make Nippattu


Making Nippattu & Fry
